About the course

Use fresh seasonal plants and dried plant material to create a unique range of vibrant colourful drawing inks. On this one day workshop you will learn how to: • create natural dye from flowers, leaves, roots and bark • prepare dyes into inks • preserve and store your inks • use minerals to alter the opacity and tone • experiment with modifiers to shift and change individual colours with surprising results! • intermix colours to further extend your natural ink palette. We will use dip pens and brushes to create colour explorations and samples onto a range of different papers. At the end of the day you will have process notes and accompanying colour samples, as well as 2-3 natural inks to take away. No prior experience required. All materials included. Tutor: Cath Bristow
